Medical Review

Health information is only as good as the people who check it. This page explains who medically reviews content on GoFixTeeth.com, what that review covers, and just as importantly what it does not.

Our medical reviewer

Dr. Lacheheb Mostapha is a dentist who holds a Doctor of Dental Surgery (DDS) degree from the University of Algiers, and he runs his own dental practice in Algeria. He reviews articles on GoFixTeeth.com for medical accuracy and safety, both new and existing ones, and tells us when he finds anything inaccurate or outdated. He reads the clinical statements, the home-care advice and the “see a dentist now” warnings, and flags anything that is inaccurate, outdated, too reassuring or unclear. We then correct the article before the review is recorded.

How you can tell an article has been reviewed

Articles that have been reviewed carry a “Medically reviewed by” box at the top, with the date of the review. If an article does not show this box, it has not yet been through dentist review, and it should be read as general information only. When dental guidance changes or an article is substantially rewritten, it goes back for review and the date is updated.

What the review covers

  • Whether symptoms, causes and healing timelines are described accurately and without overstating certainty.
  • Whether home-care steps are safe and consistent with guidance from bodies such as the ADA, NIDCR/NIH, CDC and NHS.
  • Whether the warning signs that mean you should contact a dentist or emergency service are clear and complete.

What it does not mean

  • It is not a diagnosis or treatment plan, and it does not create a dentist–patient relationship between you and the reviewer.
  • It is not an endorsement of any product, brand or retailer. Product recommendations and affiliate links are covered in our affiliate disclosure and are chosen independently of the review.
  • It does not replace an examination. If you have severe pain, swelling, fever, trouble breathing or swallowing, or heavy bleeding that does not stop, seek urgent care.
