Tooth Pain & Post-Extraction Symptom Checker

Answer six quick questions about your toothache or post-extraction symptoms. You’ll get one of three results: normal β€” manage at home, watch closely, or contact a dentist now. This is educational triage, not a diagnosis.

1. Do you have swelling of the face, jaw or neck?

2. Fever?

3. Any trouble breathing or swallowing, or can’t open your mouth normally?

4. How is the pain trending?

5. Bleeding?

6. Bad taste/smell, pus, or visible bone in a socket?

What the results mean

Contact now: spreading swelling, high fever, trouble breathing/swallowing or heavy bleeding can signal cellulitis, abscess spread or haemorrhage β€” conditions that need same-day care. Watch closely: pain that stops improving after day 3, low-grade fever or a foul taste often points to dry socket or early infection, which dentists treat easily when caught early. Normal: steadily improving pain with mild swelling is typical healing.
